MARATHON OF THE GORGES OF THE ARDECHE 2016

BLOG AQUADESIGN

For its 32nd edition, the Ardèche Gorges International Marathon saw things in big! More than 1800 paddlers were present to give their all. But this year, and for the first time, the event opened the competition to Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) enthusiasts.

Little by little, the discipline is making its way into the whitewater scene. Thanks to the perseverance of SUP lovers and the many advances made in the manufacture of inflatable boards, it is now possible to ride the rapids with the right equipment and without worrying about the fragility of your board.

For this first Ard’river challenge, 34 river SUP specialists fought to swallow the 24 kilometers that separated them from the arrival of Saint Martin d’Ard’che. Congratulations to all the competitors for being part of the pioneers of this sport that is still little known and yet never ceases to thrill us!

Cover some photos from this great event shared by CKM showing Vincent Sultana (winner of this first edition) in full battle with our Jeremy Laugerat who once again proved himself by finishing 12ème in the scratch (2ème in inflatable) with the Air Swift. Félicitation guys!”
