In a major first in the world of whitewater sports, Scandinavian countries are embarking on the creation of an artificial river by involving the community.
Bo-Marcus Lidström, Benny Nyberg and their team based their idea on a crowdfunding campaign, and it's working! With one week to go, they have already raised over 92% of their target budget, nearly €1,000,000.
Crowdfunding offers numerous advantages, allowing everyone to benefit. The campaign requires a rigorous approach to developing a viable and profitable business plan. This provides security for both the company and the investors, who receive annual payouts and can see their investment rewarded.
Their idea stems from a fairly simple observation: whitewater rafting and canoeing/kayaking are popular worldwide. Unfortunately, not all countries are fortunate enough to have truly usable rivers, whether due to uncontrolled water levels in natural rivers or the often short season. Demand is high in Sweden, and the location is perfectly chosen to attract mass tourism while offering proximity to major cities, thus avoiding the problems of inaccessible mountains. The artificial whitewater park is the ideal solution.
As whitewater professionals, we understand the potential of these types of artificial rivers. That's why we're contributing to the funding of this exciting project.
