The Bostik 2402 Kit is a high-performance, two-component liquid contact adhesive, comprising a resin (cream) and a separate hardener (colorless), to be mixed in a ratio of 1 liter of resin to 40 ml of hardener. It is specially designed for bonding rubber to metal and is the benchmark for assembling and repairing hypalon and neoprene membranes, as well as natural, nitrile, and laminated rubber.
Thanks to its hardener, it offers very high resistance to peeling and temperature, with particularly high adhesion to metallic surfaces. Once mixed, the product has a pot life of approximately 2 hours at +20°C, a drying time of 10 minutes, and a maximum open time of 45 minutes, thus providing a comfortable working window.
Application is by brush or fine notched trowel, with double coating (150 g/m²/face): after mixing the two components, a layer is applied to each surface, left to dry for 10 to 15 minutes, then the surfaces are brought into contact with strong pressure for 15 to 20 seconds. For hypalon membranes, careful sanding with 80-120 grit is essential, followed by a first impregnation pass before final application. Optimal strength is achieved after 24 hours.
The product can be stored for up to 12 months in its original hermetically sealed packaging, protected from frost, between +10°C and +30°C. It is available as a kit (1 L resin + 40 ml hardener). Tools and fresh adhesive can be cleaned with Bostik Agosolvant solvent.
Precaution: Flammable product containing ethyl acetate and rosin (allergic risk) — use exclusively outdoors or in a very well-ventilated area, away from any ignition sources, with gloves and eye protection.
Fresh adhesive and tools can be cleaned with BOSTIK AGOSOLVANT solvent.
